Job Description
Responsible for the efficient operation of the assigned production lines to include product quality, meeting of production schedules, minimizing waste, maximizing output, employee training, safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and housekeeping. Other duties include:
Supervise and manage day to day production of his/her assigned areas. Responsible for producing a product which meets all quality standards and customer specifications. Responsible for coordinating required maintenance with Production Superintendent and maintenance to keep machinery and support systems operating at maximum efficiency. Producing product according to production schedule. Minimizing waste in all areas of his/her authority. Meeting and exceeding daily line/production output standards. Reporting ingredient and packaging usage variances. Coordinating with Quality Assurance in the resolution of quality problems. Maintain a highly motivated and well-trained workforce. Administering disciplinary action in accordance with company policy. Implement safety program and maintain a safe working environment. Train and cross-train employees. Educate and stress the importance of GMPs and quality requirements in their jobs. Work as a team member with other supervisors and managers to achieve goals. Any and all other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED required. College degree preferred Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry Successful experience in supervising, leading, and training employees. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function well under pressure deadlines. Mechanical aptitude a plus. Physical ability to work in a production environment with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, and lifting.
