Job Description
The Sanitation position responsibilities include, but are not limited to ,the plant sanitation and cleanliness standards as established by the Company as well as outside regulatory agencies. This includes both internal and external grounds of manufacturing facility (i.e. Building floors, ceilings, pipes, walls, machines, pans, utensils, freezer/coolers, ovens, equipment, etc.).
The Sanitation position must comply with standard food industry Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all other food safety requirements as they relate to all products and processes. Sanitation must also understand the use of chemical cleaning agents as it applies to MSDS and OSHA guidelines (i.e. Lock Out / Tag Out, Personal Protective Equipment, Chemical Safety, Fork Lift Certification, CO2 Dry Ice Cleaning Certification, Confined Space Entry, etc.).
Other general requirements of all Sanitors include the following:
Working at various heights. For example: Operating lifts, going up and cleaning on lifts and ladders, overhead pipe, equipment, tarp, ceiling, overhead cooling unit, top of oven, top of proof boxes, and conveyor cleaning. Cleaning in confined spaces. For example: Cleaning in ovens, sour tanks and other “tight” areas. CO2 (Dry Ice Equipment) Certification Fork Truck, Lifts, Pallet Jack Training and Certification Chemical Safety Training and Certification Drain cleaning, toilet cleaning, pan washer operation / clean out, trash can cleaning, barrel washing, pest clean-up, freezer/cooler cleaning – You Will Get Dirty! Weekend and Holiday work is required No set days off or schedules in the department. You bid to a shift only. 1, 2 or 3 Other tasks as assigned! Job Qualifications
18 years or older High School degree or equivalent Baking process knowledge or other food related manufacturing experience is beneficial Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime
