General Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting audits of the company's external manufacturing facilities (including packing operations), warehousing, sales channels, and other supply chain facilities to ensure compliance with Godiva Global Quality System and product requirements. Additionally, the job holder manages specific quality systems projects for external manufacturing.
Principal Accountabilities:
• 40% - Responsible for planning and conducting the audit requirements for existing supply base providers (contract manufacturers, contract packers, and other supply chain partners). This includes audit planning, execution, documentation and reporting with proactive follow up (CAPA).
• 25% - Responsible for leading and conducting qualification audits to determine if new/potential supply base providers (contract manufacturers, contract packers and other supply chain partners) can comply with Godiva Global Quality System requirements and product requirements. This includes audit planning, execution, documentation and reporting with proactive follow up (CAPA).
• 25% - Responsible for planning and conducting relevant audit requirements for sales channels. This could include inventory management audits (with regard to product quality and age), new warehouse/distribution center qualification audits, and POS (point of sale) product quality audits.
• 10% - Manage quality projects as directed by supervisor, including implementing specific quality system requirements for supply base providers
Job Complexity:
• Position holder must demonstrate ability to effectively plan and manage a detailed schedule relative to annual audit requirements. The person is responsible for organizing the associated workload and managing the results accordingly (including concise, timely communication).
• This position requires an individual to be able to objectively assess an external manufacturer's (or sales channel's) practices and procedures against a standard (the Godiva Global Quality System) and make appropriate recommendations where needed. Tactful, skillful, consistent application of Global Quality Procedures is required in order to reasonably evaluate an external manufacturer's (or sales channel's) quality and food safety programs.
• Proactive follow up of CAPA (corrective and preventive actions) is a main element of this person's role.
• This person is responsible to generate, analyze and communicate quality score cards for supply base providers in order to objectively select the right external partner and to drive continuous improvement initiatives within existing partners.
Requirements:
• Minimum education required: BS, Food science or related field. Education desired: BS Food Science
• Years of relevant experience: Minimum 5 years experience in auditing, food manufacturing quality assurance, and/or operations
• Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
• Strong quality systems background
• Auditor Certification (AIB/ ASQ/ Other) / ISO lead assessor certification desirable
• Highly developed interpersonal skills as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong partnering and relationship management skills with external technical organizations and cross functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to deliver required results.
