Associate Finance Manager
The AFM is responsible for leading such activities as Gross Margin Analysis, Supply Chain Cost Forecasting, Foreign Exchange forecasting, Capital management, Tax support, plant liaise, and product costing.
This position will report to the Finance Manager, Ice Cream, Spreads and Dressing. The key responsibilities of the position include:
BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP
• Lead the Gross Margin Variance Analysis process for the Ice Cream category, seeking out explanations for change and communicating to the category team • Provide the foreign exchange gain/loss and Co-packing promotional fee cross charge of the month forecasting process. • Act as the liaison with the Material Data Control Center to assure SAP Basic data compliance. • Complete product cost estimates as required to support business case analysis on innovation • Lead preparation of capital proposal requests • Provide Ad hoc analysis as required
COMPLIANCE AND REPORTING
• Manage the Ice Cream portion of Foreign Exchange analysis and buy submissions to Unilever Treasury • Manage Corporate Capital Asset Spend • Act as Lotus Notes administrator for Capital Project Authorization • Complete month end and rolling forecast processes including cost of goods allocation check, forex and co-pack promotional entries. • Assist in management of the annual standard cost setting process • Assist the Category team in analysis • Act as liaison with the Simcoe Plant on variance issues • Report on cost savings initiatives
We are looking for a dynamic individual who will be able to demonstrate supply chain finance leadership in the Ice Cream business; both to the categories and to other analysts, challenge the status quo, can solve issues independently, has a process improvement mindset and is tenacious in the follow up of issues. Candidates require strong analytical abilities, good communication skills and the ability to perform in a multi-task work environment.
The successful candidate must have a University degree with a finance/accounting emphasis. The candidate must have completed or is in the process of completing a post-graduate designation (CMA, CGA, CA). A solid working knowledge of computerized business systems (Essbase, SAP) as well as PC based computer applications is essential.
Experience in supply chain finance and / or treasury would be an asset, but not required.
