Position: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
SUMMARY:
Major frozen food manufacturer is currently seeking a Production Supervisor. This is a young, privately-owned organization that offers tremendous growth opportunities.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Primary responsibility is to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the Production Department. Will be responsible for Associate safety, production results, as well as food safety/quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To train, teach, coach and motivate Associates.
- To supervise activities of Associates, directing their efforts to meet production goals in a safe manner.
- To maintain safety, quality, sanitation and productivity standards.
- To ensure production lines are ready to run at start-up.
- To recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
- To ensure product meets required specifications.
- To follow safety procedures at all time and ensure safety of Associates.
- To communicate previous shift issues to incoming shift Supervisors and discuss action plans to resolve issues.
- To identify specific problems and identify solutions to get them resolved. This includes developing action plans for the next step.
- Achieve budgeted goals for efficiency on an on-going basis.
- Manage system to run line at a minimum of 98% efficiency.
- To consistently achieve first hour results at 100% or better.
- To manage waste to less than 2%.
- To initiate or suggest plans to motivate Associates to achieve production goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 yrs experience in a Supervisory capacity.
- AA degree or college coursework preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
DESIRED QUALITIES & CAPABILITIES:
- An energetic individual with 3 to 8 years of experience
- Capable of working long hours and weeks,
- Detail oriented and has good computer skills.
- They need to be able to work under stress
- Self motivator which is going to bring corrective actions to the table
- Prefer a candidate with Packaging experience which understands and can learn how to operate and trouble shoot equipment from an operations point of view
