Job Description
Growth-oriented snack food manufacturer seeks Food Service Production Supervisor (for 2nd or 3rd shift) to assist in the safe and efficient operation of Food Service packaging area and to ensure that only product that meets customers’ specifications is properly packaged. MAIN DUTIES: Responsible for daily set-up of production line(s). Monitor employees for safe operation of equipment. Never allow equipment in need of repair to be operated without thorough investigation to safe operation of that equipment. Report unsafe equipment immediately. Train and instruct all department personnel on the requirements of their job, to include: safety training, operation of equipment, GMPs, and any other requirement as needed. Monitor lines for efficiencies. Follow daily production schedule and notify Shift Manager if shortages occur. Make department recommendations for improvements in efficiencies and safety. Evaluate packaging employees to ensure safety; quality, and productivity are met. Schedule daily crewing to ensure proper crewing levels are maintained. Monitor packaging equipment to ensure proper usage of materials and proper recording of materials are adhered to. Monitor product and packaging quality, and address any deficiencies. Report daily packaging deficiencies with follow-up recommendations for improvement. Maintain cleanliness of department at all times. Notify maintenance and follow-up with work orders on any repair or improvement to a packaging line. Work closely with Quality Assurance to maintain high product quality. Properly identify and tag rework for allergen identification. Monitor dept. for accuracy: (example: codes correct, pkg. Correct, date correct) Follows all OSHA safety rules, GMPs, and all food safety laws and regulations. Enforces all company rules in a fair and consistent manner. Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED. Post high school education is a plus. Requires minimum 3 years’ lead, foreman, or supervisory experience in food industry, preferably in a related food production area. Must be knowledgeable in GMPs’, HACCP, SOP’s, sanitation practices, & Product Trace & Recovery pertaining to the food industry. Must be bilingual – English & Spanish. Must be able to read & write basic English. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Requires good analytical skills. Electric pallet jack certification & valid driver license desired.
