Job Description
Position: Trader – Edible Oils Location: North Carolina

Client Company is an agricultural trading company that specializes in trading food products in a global marketplace.

Client is seeking an experienced trader to market and sell Edible Oils in the domestic market.

The ideal candidate should have:

• a minimum of 5 years of successful trading experience in selling edible oils, especially palm oil in domestic market place; • experience setting up or supervising a trading desk; • broad set of connections/relationships within the industry; • experience with procurement on a global level • International sales experience • Deep international product knowledge – Soybean, sunflower, palm. Refined oils, crude oils, bulk cargos, containerized shipments- bottled (retail sizes), jerry cans, flexitanks. • success in exceeding aggressive sales goals; • demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment; • self-motivated; • demonstrated success in understanding, monitoring and controlling risk; • a bachelor’s degree.

Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• monitoring world markets and following financial news and developments; • conducting trades on behalf of Client Company & Customers when applicable • advising clients on the best way to position themselves within markets; • seeking and pursuing new business opportunities; • visiting clients and suppliers throughout the world (extensive travel); • discussing and agreeing prices, quality, delivery and specifications; • maintaining contact with shipping, transport and insurance companies; • purchasing for other traders; • controlling risk; • adhering to limits and trading rules; • limiting risk; • developing effective relationships within and beyond the company. • supervising and/or advising other traders
