Job Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for operations, production, safety and policy enforcement for the department. Maintains work schedules and on-call schedules and ensures proper documentation, ensures daily reports are completed accurately and timely, ensure employee weekly time sheets are properly filled out and approved. Assists maintenance personnel. Plan and review the project work with the PM Production Manager; administer HACCP and GMP policies. Maintain high standards of excellence, attention to detail and the willingness/flexibility to work through peak work cycles. Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred. Processed Meats experience preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following: • Oversee department operations, identifying problems and develop and implement corrective and preventative measures. • Ensure department personnel follow the established procedures for start up, operation, and shutdown of the equipment. • Follow production reports and troubleshoot any issues during operation. Offers potential solutions and reports any issues on a daily basis to management. • Ensure prescribed checks and monitoring of all operating equipment is carried out as required. • Establishes and ensures that safety policies and procedures are followed at all times. • Work closely with purchasing coordinator to ensure adequate supplies are available. • Interface with customers, suppliers, vendors, senior staff, staff support. • Prepare and maintain updated production reports. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years or more related experience and/or training in leadership roles; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Processed Meats, bacon or ham processing experience preferred.
