Job Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for operations, production, safety and policy enforcement for the department. Manage Production Supervisors and oversee timely and proper completion of production work schedules, on-call schedules, proper documentation, daily reports, and employee weekly time sheets. Assists maintenance personnel. Oversee the administration HACCP and GMP policies. Ensure high standards of excellence are maintained, attention to detail and the willingness/flexibility to work through peak work cycles. Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred. Processed meats experience preferred, including sausage, bacon, and ham processing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following: • Oversee department operations, identifying problems and develop and implement corrective and preventative measures. • Ensure de partment personnel follow the established procedures for start up, operation, and shutdown of the equipment. • Follow production reports and troubleshoot any issues during operation. Offers potential solutions and reports any issues on a daily basis to management. • Ensure prescribed checks and monitoring of all operating equipment is carried out as required. • Establishes and ensures that safety policies and procedures are followed at all times. • Work closely with all departments to ensure production schedules are met. •Interface with customers, suppliers, vendors, senior staff, staff support. • Review production reports for opportunities to increase production and implement cost savings. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years or more related experience as a Production Superintendent or Production Manager; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Processed meats experience preferred, including sausage, bacon or ham processing experience.
