About Us: California Manaufacturing company located in the Los Angeles area. Stable family run business under 200 employees is seeking a change agent for improving and enhancing their Maintenance Operations.
Essential Functions: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision and direction of union and non-union personnel. In this role you will be accountable for assigning projects, solving problems, setting direction, and achieving departmental goals and objectives. The Maintenance Supervisor must be fully committed to meeting manufacturing goals in the areas of safety, quality, production and cost.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee and coordinate daily maintenance operations of both production and labeling lines
- Ensure daily productivity, quality and safety goals are met and provide direction
- Track and maintain line efficiency targets and methods to increase productivity
- Implementing and supervising Preventive Maintenance activities.
- Assist in developing and maintaining adequate Spare Parts Levels.
- Maintaining and upholding the quality and standards of the company
- Interacting with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems in the facility.
- Complying with all safety norms and regulations set by the industry.
- Delegating work to subordinates and ensuring the timely completion of the same.
- Supervise, train and develop mechanics, electricians, seamer mechanics, boiler operators and maintenance helpers.
- Administer the maintenance budget, and cost reduction programs.
- Oversee MPE 2 DataStream and spare parts programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
Experience and Background:
- 2 to 5 years maintenance supervisory experience
- 2 years or more working in a USDA inspected facility
- Technical background in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines
- Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
- Good leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate team members.
- Understanding of preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance methods.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office programs.
- Knowledge of MP2 Datastream or equivalent programs.
- Valid California driver’s license.
