Job Description

 Position Overview:

Sells Griffith products to select accounts by working with established customers anddeveloping new customers.  Applies a complete knowledge of Griffith Laboratories productsand solution strategies with exception to corporate strategic initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements the territory’s strategic and tactical sales plans to accommodate corporate and regional goals.
  • Consistently delivers the territory’s sales revenue and margin targets.
  • Leads and communicates territory’s forecast and margin, resource needs, and client communication.
  • Develops and implements territory’s long-term customer and product strategies.
  • Utilizes Miller Heiman strategic and conceptual selling.
  • Represents Griffith at trade association meetings, customer conventions, and trade shows to promote Griffith Laboratories.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients.
  • Meets with key clients maintaining multi-functional relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Participates in company initiatives and task forces as needed.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of territory to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Develops and maintains top-level multi-functional relationships within territory’s customer base.
  • Effectively develops and presents proposals to improve Griffith laboratories overall sales performance.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  • Works with Marketing and Inside Sales to compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers on a consistent basis. On average, spends 3 to 4 days per week directly calling on customers.
  • Shows understanding of issues relevant to the broad organization and business; keeps that knowledge up-to-date; understands the impact of external events on the organizational plans and objectives.
  • Anticipates and identifies customer needs; takes action to meet customer needs; develops effective working relationships with internal and external customers; continually searches for ways to increase customer satisfaction

 Requirements:                                  

  • Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university and five years related experience; or two year degree with seven years related experience.
