Job Description

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to help manage the engineering needs of the bakery and the hourly engineering staff. This position reports to the Chief Engineer and the primary role of the Maintenance Supervisor is for supervising maintenance and installation of all plant equipment and facilities.

** Working Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday &Wednesday nights, approximately 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Off Thursday & Friday nights.  Work schedule subject to change with business needs. **

PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assure equipment reliability to maximize production line productivity
  • Supervise, coach, train, lead and motivate a shift of mechanics to meet planned objectives and respond effectively to emergencies
  • Builds people capability by effectively monitoring and providing performance feedback to direct reports
  • Communicate status of shift to following shift and others who require the information
  • Identify equipment and facility deficiencies and ensure the initiation of corrective action
  • Assess mechanics technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Provide training and counseling as needed to assist mechanics in meeting performance standards
  • Partner with plant peers to ensure the plants equipment meet regulatory requirements for cleanliness and product safety
  • Maintain P&L responsibility over maintenance cost centers, repair and maintenance, maintenance labor, utilities and capital improvement plans


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years engineering/maintenance management experience in a high speed manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends
  • Must have solid understanding of commercial bakeries and baking equipment
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be familiar with MS Outlook, Excel and Word
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bakery experience
  • Bachelorâ??s degree highly preferred
  • Intermediate MS Office experience
  • Experience supervising employees in a union environment desired
  • AIB Engineering Residence course strongly preferred
  • Change management experience
