Company/Product: Company is a leader in food ingredients and ingredient systems and brings a unique blend of culinary skills, R&D and manufacturing expertise to the food industry. They provide the food industry with an array of stock concentrates, soup bases, sauces, gravies, seasoning blends and custom mixes. In today’s complex environment it is more important than ever to understand how to meet the needs of customers. Due to its expected increase in sales, our client has created multiple sales management positions throughout the country to include NYC, Chi, Dallas & LA to help drive the company forward. They are seeking leaders that can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, are results orientated and driven by success. Job Description: This position will manage sales of products into a wide variety of manufacturers and other significant market leaders across the US. The individual selected for this position will be based out of their home office. Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions include: • Develops and executes a plan for managing and developing sales to strategic customer accounts. • Communicate customer and market needs to all disciplines within the company. • Develop a sound understanding of the technical aspects of company’s products and the market. • Establish relationships and new sales with key people at target customers including, VP/Director of Marketing, VP/Director of R&D, etc. • Competitive analysis. • Possess knowledge of food ingredient manufacturing processes and how to sell ingredients for applications into foods from both a technical and culinary viewpoint. • Coordinates and conducts key customer ideation sessions with R & D staff both internally and externally. • Prepares qualified new item requests for presentation to management. • Prioritize project requests based upon sales potential and probability of closing the sale. • Working in conjunction with marketing, prepares and delivers effective sales presentations. • The selected individual should be skilled in the development of new accounts and negotiation of contract proposals for customers. • Negotiates prices with sales accounts. • Maintains effective sales administrative functions working in conjunction with the sales administrator. • Development of new customers and new products within existing accounts. • Collaborates with cross-functional members of the team in order to develop a clear objective and path leading to closing the sale. • 50%-75% Travel required. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science/Technology preferred. Culinary experience would be a strong asset. Experience/Qualifications: • 3-5 years experience in ingredient sales to industrial accounts. • Strong planning and time management skills. • Excellent ability to keep a large number of projects/tasks going concurrently. • Basic PC skills are required, including MS Office Suite, and PowerPoint. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Proven track record of delivering desired sales volume, operating profit results and opening new accounts.
