Job Description

Power Packaging, an Exel Company, is a premier provider of manufacturing and packaging services to America's finest food companies. Operating networks of food and beverage plants across the US and Canada, Power acts as a seamless extension of their customers' supply chains.

We are currently searching for a Mechanic who can maintain and repair food manufacturing automation and forklifts; provide mechanical support, including diagnosis and solution, for a dedicated delivery system including preventative maintenance, major repairs, and accident repairs.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

 

  • Schedule daily maintenance work
  • Perform all repairs on automation and forklifts in an efficient manner to minimize downtime
  • Accurately document and complete preventative maintenance on all machines and equipment
  • Ensures safe performance of duties and adheres to distribution center safety rules
  • Ensure all maintenance work performed is complete to company standards
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of general maintenance procedures, including lubrication practices/systems
  • Manage parts inventory at the most economic level for efficient operation of the systems
  • Ensure housekeeping and sanitation standards meet company requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

 Job requirements:

2-5 years equipment maintenance experience with 2 years related experience in a manufacturing setting; prefer food manufacturing experience

  • Be able to work flexible hours which may include weekends and evening hours; site is open 24hours per day / 7days a week
  • Have electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, blueprints, procedure manuals and drawings
  • Ability to troubleshoot to the component level and be able to use applicable test equipment
  • Possess/display good communication skills written or verbal
  • Possess problem solving skills and decision making skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift
  • Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Pass a mechanical aptitude test
  • Will be required to be compliant with OSHA regulations or MSDS standards
