Job Description

Currently, Post Foods LLC in Parsippany, NJ is hiring for 3 Sales Insights and Analytics Managers. The Sales Insights & Analytics Manager will be charged with providing best in class consumer, shopper and customer insights both internally and externally. This role will have on-going contacts internally with field sales, Sales Planning, and Shopper Marketing, while providing objective insights externally to the customer. The Sales Insights and Analytics Manager will have a lead role in creating insight based strategies and uncovering opportunities to grow both the category and Post, and have shared accountability for Post’s performance at the customer. This position will be an integral member of the cross-functional business team, and will report into the Integrated Insights & Strategy function. Post is looking for a hard-working, eager, self-starter to help take the company to the next level:

  • Be the objective voice to guide and influence both the Post sales organization and the customer
  • Provide support by turning data insights meaning influence business decisions to Post differentiate in-market… grow Post and RTEC Category sales.
  • Champion a holistic consumer/shopper/sales perspective via experience in survey/custom, analytics, and insights – particularly with an appetite to directly and interactively experience our shopper’s
  • lives.
  • Curious individual who wants to roll-up their sleeves to uncover business opportunities and solve business issues. Seeks understanding – to ‘peel back the layers’ to get at root causes versus symptoms.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead Post’s Category Management, Shopper Insights, and sales advanced analytics efforts at the customer level by working closely with the Post sales organization and the customer.
  • Be regarded as the Subject Matter Expert to the customer team relative to the sales insights & analytics processes, tools, and methods.
  • Develop objective, value -added insights and analyses to uncover opportunities to grow the business, and work with the customer team to implement actions based on these insights.
  • Translate insights into actionable sales strategies/tactics (includes Post business plans, shelving and promotional strategies/tactics) in order to develop new ways to grow Post’s business and enable accounts to profitably grow Post share.
  • Gain customer’s support for shopper research initiatives, and assume project management responsibilities for the research, including shaping the research and analyzing and sharing the results as well as providing action-oriented recommendations.
  • Identify gaps in knowledge base and initiate research/analyses associated with understanding shopper/customer wants, needs, and purchase behavior that will influence Post and/or category growth at the customer.
  • Uncover, review, and analyze existing consumer and shopper research to identify new learning and apply to current unmet business challenges.
  • Be the expert in accessing and leveraging syndicated data sources and advanced modeling analytics (Nielsen, Adviews, MVI, trade optimization, assortment optimization, price promo, marketing/sales mix models, market structure, and other modeling capabilities).
  • Develop recommendations with the customer teams to provide insights and analysis to help drive consistent sales recommendations on pricing, promotion, assortment, and shelving
  • Develop Customer Category Reviews/Business Reviews, Top to Top Presentations, and New Item Presentations (Core and Innovation) with the support of various team members.
  • Lead advanced modeling analytics to guide sales strategies and plans that the customer level through: customer marketing/channel strategies from assortment, price/promotional evaluations, retailer trade spending ROI, etc.

Job Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Social Science, Marketing). MBA or MMR preferred, not required.
  • 8+ years CPG marketing research experience (supplier and/or client side)
  • 5+ years Shopper Insights or Category Management experience
  • Experience presenting to a customer
  • A thinker with solid analytical skills and can-do attitude
  • Passionate and curious about consumer/shoppers behavior and psychology
  • Has a bias for action
  • Ability to lead, highly responsible, strong attention to detail
  • Can closely manage timelines, handle multiple projects
  • Creative individual who is not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Travel: 30-40%
