Job Description

Consumer Products/Industrial Manufacturing Company is looking for:


POSITION:  Production Supervisor (Shift)
LOCATION:  Small Town 40 Miles outside of Knoxville TN (Town of 4K)  - Plenty of areas to live in between
SALARY:  60-69K +   Profit Sharing Bonus (last 3 years around 30-40%) and Amazing Benefits
DEGREE:  Degreed, Preferred Masters
EXPERIENCE:  1-3 Years +
SHIFT:  Must be Flexible
RELOCATION:  Available

This position is responsible for the Day-to-Day Production Unit operational performance. He/She will be responsible for delivering productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality and safety objectives through both individual and team efforts. He/She will be required to provide leadership, direction, development and support to his/her direct reports through a variety of personal and business methodologies. Frequent line tours, short interval management and effective problem solving techniques are some of the business requirements.
 
This position is also responsible for Area/Zone ownership which consists of  manufacturing lines. Assist in determining the necessity for repair and/or replacement of equipment and/or components. Partner with the technical and/or engineering teams to support all capital projects within areas. Know the area results, gaps, open actions, key operational targets, standards and continuously drive improvement in these areas. Analyze performance of the lines (efficiency, losses, quality, etc) and prioritize actions. 
 
Qualifications 
 - Bachelors degree with a minimum of 2-3 years business/related experience.
- Prefer Masters Degrees
 - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities is a must.
- Packaging equipment experience and technical understanding.
- Must possess excellent analytical, troubleshooting, conflict management and problem solving skills.
- Must possess demonstrated planning, communication and supervisory skills. 
- Leadership Experience in a fast paced, manufacturing environment.
- Shift flexibility where weekends and nights may be required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Resourcefulness and Be a decision maker in the organization
- Must have the ability to work under pressure 
- Experience (Food and Beverage)
- Experience implementing and leading within a lean based environment
- Leadership within a non union environment 

 

The ideal candidate would have the MBA or be in pursuit of the MBA.

It’s preferred that the candidate have 0 to 5 years manufacturing experience – we’d like for them to have at least gotten their shoes a little dirty on a manufacturing floor – but we want them to be ultra-flexible, this position needs to be seen as promotable two levels and we’d like to feel that we can be a big part of developing their Leadership skills and style.

 

Having Food Science, QA, Food experience is a definite plus.
