Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree
  • Ten years of experience in a culinary position including at least five years either with a food manufacturer or restaurant chain business.
  •  Up to 50% travel.
  • May indirectly supervise two to three junior chefs or technicians/technologists. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Provides culinary development of concepts and products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:

  • Creates new and exciting recipes, product applications and finished products for retail, foodservice and food ingredients customers and consumers. 
  • Through customer analysis creates and presents menu concepts for foodservice and retail accounts.
  • Develops product concepts for retail consumers and food ingredient customers.
  • Develops bench top or pilot plant formulas and products.
  • Provides external customer service to sales and marketing teams by customer site visits, problem solving, consultation and presentation.
  • Develops key customer and industry relationships.
  • Develops proper product preparation and handling instructions on products through a keen understanding of GMPs, HACCP and sanitation standards.
  • Supports R&D Scientists on the commercialization of new product prototypes and product development problem solving.
  • Develops a working knowledge of commercial ingredients for product development
  • Understands internal plant trial/commercialization business processes.
  • Leads culinary demonstrations for internal and external presentations.
