Job Description

Consumer Products/Industrial Manufacturing Company is looking for:

 

POSITION:   R&D/Product Development Specialist
LOCATION:  Media/Rose Valley, PA Area   
SALARY:   60-75K
DEGREE:   Required 
EXPERIENCE:   5+ Years 

RELOCATION:  Not Available
 

They are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Culinary or Food Science area, has supervisory, brand development and vendor management experience and done sensory work.

 

GenericDescription

Education / Training: Degree in Food Science, Culinary, Biochemistry or other technical discipline

 

Know-how / Professional Experience: 5 years application development experience. Knowledge of product formulation, product development, and concepts to development.

 

Key Accountabilities

1. Proactively manage project pipeline with an eye towards continuous improvement; consistently managing priorities to deliver best ROI while meeting target objectives and Customer expectations.

2. Manage a program for existing formulas that consistently captures cost saving opportunities created by new technology ingenuity or market fluctuations.

3. Lead an innovation process that consistently delivers relevant and attractive product concepts which offer good profit opportunities for the Customer and the Company.

4. Manage all media and communications from the RD team to Customers in a way that is attractive demonstrates professionalism and creates accountability.

5. Insure profitability of new formulations utilizing electronic resources to accurately track and manage the cost component of formulations from concept through the ERP to production.

6. Identify areas of risk and minimize them by eliminating incomplete incorrect or outdated manufacturing instructions or practices.

7.  Spearhead process of plant scale-up in cooperation with Production team for new formulas. Ensure that assumptions are validated and resulting knowledge informs subsequent productions.

8. Resolve production-related technical issues on an as-needed basis in support of the product.
