Preferred Meal Systems is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor.  In this position you will be responsible for:

Summary: Responsible for planning, direction and leading overall performance of the company run Distribution Warehouse Center.  Responsible for warehousing and distribution (final mile deliver) operations, light manufacturing assembly, customer relations, quality, safety and security.  Ensures effective and efficient support of the Supply Chain goals and objectives. Assist in overall Logistics planning, budgeting, financial and human resource decisions to enable organization to reach goals.  Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Develop, oversee and direct all warehousing activities/services (including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance and administrative activities, etc.) to ensure only the customer requirements are met/exceeded at the lowest landed costs.
  • Develop oversee and direct all light manufacturing assembly, Quality Assurance/Control and all required standards/procedures to ensure facility meets or surpasses safety, quality and all other requirements from the following agencies: Health department, OSHA, HACCP, Cook and Thurber, as well as all other audits or qualifications required by the company.
  • Oversee job assignments and labor schedules to ensure efficient and effective utilization of personnel/equipment/resources.
  • Focus on Lean Six Sigma processes/initiatives and make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations reducing waste and control variability.
  • Develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training and professional development.
  • Utilize optimization tools (e.g. Roadnet) to ensure last mile distribution functions are efficient and effective at overall asset/resource utilization.
  • Develop a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards. Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.
  • Plan long-range Warehousing needs based on sales forecasts and input from management.
  • Ensure that procedures are in place for the efficient operation and utilization of all warehouse equipment.
  • Direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property.
  • Ensure current and accurate inventory control for all products/SKU’s.
  • Ensure the creation of the necessary warehouse information systems to meet company objectives and facilitate the efficient operations of the warehouse.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in implementing and managing change.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop continuous improvement methodology in key areas of service profit and growth, and use key performance indicators to drive and quantify cost optimization while maintaining customer quality and service.
  • Ensure the security of the facility, its environs, employees and its contents.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations.
  • Experience with Parishables desired.

Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Qualifications:

 

  • Must be organized, must be accurate, and must have demonstrated ability to meet objectives within time sensitive deadlines with outstanding follow-through
  • Work independently on both tactical and strategic business needs
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in implementing and managing change.
  • Demonstrated ability of managing cost performance and distribution execution across a variety of product lines from multiple sources in a seasonal business.
  • In depth knowledge of key supply chain processes and current best practices.
  • Lean, Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.
  • Ability to transform current business model to a best-in-class operation; demonstrated experience in creating/upgrading a supply chain function.
  • Strong analytical, financial & P&L skill required to succeed.
  • Ability to scale an operation, without sacrificing efficiency and reliability, during periods of rapid growth.

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant technical or business field.
  • 5-10 or more years of food Manufacturing/Production, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain experience
