Job Description

A well established grower/shipper/packer based in the Northern CA is searching for an experienced Harvest Supervisor to join their team. The Harvest Supervisor will be responsible for post-harvest equipment, including hydro-cooler, ice machine and two mechanical wash lines.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Monitor fields during stage of growth and quality,
  • Ensure product availability & quality is communicated to Sales team
  • Monitor market conditions and how they may affect harvest & availability
  • Convey any packaging problems that may arise to packaging representative
  • Monitor & control inventory of cartons and packing supplies
  • Bring in additional work force to guarantee completion of harvest
  • Continuous evaluation & training of harvesting foreman & crew members, perform employee evaluations
  • State all personnel issues to HR director in order to show speedy professional resolution of situation
  • Examine quality and strength of packing material
  • Coordinate with irrigation crew, pre-harvest watering and irrigation
  • Responsible for coordinating with PCA/Spray team harvest dates in order to ensure safe entry & safe product to be harvested
  • Coordinate with shop supervisor to schedule needed maintenance
  • Schedule & hold monthly safety meetings with harvest personnel
  • Work within the company guidelines & policies as they apply
    • Bachelors degree in Agricultural Business or related field preferred
    • Minimum 3-5 years crop production experience: Harvesting, Packing, Cooling, Growing etc.
    • Must be able to work longer hours
    • Ability to track cost and market conditions constantly to maximize return to the ranch
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Mandatory

      COMPENSATION:
      Salary- 50K-70k, Medical Benefits, 401K, Relocation assistance.
