Job Description

Quality Manager Must have knowledge of ESL or Aseptic packaging,  and UHT processes.

u  Establish and maintain Food Safety and Quality standards and procedures that meet or exceed regulatory requirements and meet all corporate guidelines.

u  Ensure compliance of GMP’s and acceptable practices are being followed and adhered too.

u  Drive for continuous improvement in Food Safety, Quality & Cost.

u  In conjunction with Sales, handle all customer complaints or quality issues and determine what action or remedy needs to be implemented, both internally and externally.

u  Intervene when appropriate to correct or realign product and/or procedures to maintain quality standards.

u  Oversee Sanitation of facility to meet Regulatory and Corporate requirements.

u  Act as liaison and contact person for Regulatory agencies involved in plant inspections.

u  Responsible for maintaining a current awareness of Regulatory issues, and the implementation of compliance requirements.

u  Responsible to maintain positive communications with employees and all levels of management to effectively communicate Quality standards or procedural revisions.

u  Develop and maintain positive relationships within all levels of the organization.

u  Oversees all departmental paperwork.

u  Maintain accurate records of all product testing and sanitation records.

u  File Regulatory reports as needed regarding Milk testing and record keeping.

u  Maintain Lab expenses to operate within established budgetary guidelines.

 

Education and Experience…

®  Bachelor’s Degree from four year college or university

®  Dairy Experience Preferred

®  5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

®  A working knowledge of Microbiology will be advantageous




SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:

Support SQF Level 3 certification by:

®  Maintaining food safety and food quality through the completion of job tasks relating to SQF.

®  Ensure work areas are maintained in a sanitary manner.

®  Maintain SQF Practitioner/Expert status and work as backup to the SQF Expert.

®  Complete verifications and validations of the SQF program as required and lead the System Reviews.

®  Monitor incoming goods and services.

®  Coordinate the Corrective and Preventive Action program.

®  Maintain the Finished Product and Raw Material Release program.

®  Coordinate Internal Audit Program.

®  Maintain the Customer Complaint Program.

®  Conduct Mock Recalls at least twice a year.

®  Coordinate the HACCP program.
