Job Description
This position is responsible for the processes, administration, and analysis involved in all aspects of the foodservice School Business. This includes Net Off Invoice and K-12 Services, Blanket Bids, School Bids, and direct support to the National Sales Manager – Non-commercial Sales and associated sales personnel. It will also include general sales planning support as needed from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide all required administrative support for the Net Off Invoice/K-12 Services school business, including:

  • Catalogue national and state contract agreements, log dates and times, and schedule renewals
  • Manage delivery schedule for raw material and communicate with plants, operations
  • Publish blanket bid pricing and track/record school bid success
  • Provide analysis in executive summary form and in full detail for each area represented above including recommendations on required actions to achieve desired outcomes in each area as agreed with the National Sales Manager – Non-Commercial Sales and associated sales managers
  • Manage and maintain “paper” school bids. This includes coordination with field sales managers, school managers, brokers, and school districts pricing, items, distribution, and associated paper work.
  • Develop and manage the “electronic” school bid process. This includes coordination with field sales managers, school managers, brokers, and school districts pricing, items, distribution, and associated record keeping.
  • Receive and process USDA Brown Box and Commodity Bids. Work with all involved departments to achieve desired business results. Track results for each bid.
  • Act as the primary contact for field sales personnel, school managers, sales agencies, finance, and sales management for school related issues and needs, and provide required assistance.
  • Manage Share Point school site for calendar and data management, along with access for sales agencies and school/field sales personnel.
  • Serve as support for region chain and School Account Contracts. Post all contracts to the McCain Region Chain shared drive for use by McCain Sales and Finance.
  • Assume leadership in sales and marketing financial support for Retail businesses.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare financial analysis regarding the impact of new Retail/School Bid business, Industrial or customer programs.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports for Sales management and McCain Senior management.
  • Analyze these reports to identify volume/margin trends for major Retail / School Bid Customers, and provide insight or rationale on customers with unacceptable margins.
  • Develop specialized sales and margin analysis reports in response to ad-hoc requests.
  • Analyze profitability of Key Accounts, prepare margin analysis reports and assist in proposal analysis.
  • Execute procedures to insure that accuracy of customer accruals. This involves the evaluation of information on customer contracts and the development and evaluation of customer profitability models. Ensure the terms of the contract are properly executed and provide information used in payment/deduction verification. Evaluate actual spending on an ongoing basis to determine if adjustments are needed to customer accrual rates.
  • Analyze performance of actual Trade Spending against the budget and provide analysis to Sales Management.
  • Serve as the lead analyst in supporting the financial needs (budgeting, accruals, and GP analysis) for the retail and special markets business units.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.
  • Provide assistance on other projects or department needs as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education:       College Degree preferred, with Finance or Accounting coursework or degree a plus.

Experience:      5-7 years sales support experience preferred. Must be proficient in the use of computers for Word, Excel (spreadsheets), Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint Presentations, Crystal, Data Base Management and Web Based communications.

Excellent oral and written English communication skills and excellent analytical skills are required.
