Job Description

Qualifications:
* PhD +1-3yrs. OR MS +7yrs. OR BS +7-10yrs. of Quality experience
* Food ingredients or food production industry experience preferred
* Product commercialization success
* Knowledge of QA & QC systems
* Knowledge of manufacturing process and products required
* Extensive history related to Quality Management Systems, program development, certification, internal and external auditing programs
* Experience managing regulatory agency inspections
* Demonstrated project management skills, forecasting skills, project planning, and the development of project timelines
* Experience dealing with challenging problems, setting strategies, prioritizing, and implementing appropriate research programs
* Experience in experimental design and interpretation of research results
* Familiarity with regulatory and international regulatory affairs
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Excellent writing skills and the demonstrated ability to make timely and logical decisions
* Ability to demonstrate creative ability in solving technical issues
* Ability to develop staff
* High degree of personal motivation

Duties:
* Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the quality department
* Responsible for overall quality system and management of the company's quality management systems including program development, certification, internal and external auditing programs
* Management of regulatory agency inspections
* Management of global Quality staff and the ability to interact and work with Quality staff and Production staff at other business units on a daily basis
* Develop and oversee a strong food safety program including the development of a material risk assessment program and a HACCP program
* Identify and evaluate food safety risks and develop plans for mitigating the risks
* Responsible for effective planning, budgeting, and project management for QC activities
* Coordinate training for all quality control programs
* Approve disposition of nonconforming product
* Troubleshoot and provide solutions to problems related to base business, including but not limited to, rework solutions, process solutions or other solutions affecting the quality of the base business
* Resolution of customer complaints
* Critically evaluate existing procedures and documentation in multiple business departments for compliance to standards/requirements
