Job Description
Currently, Schwan's Global Supply Chain (Schwan’s), a subsidiary of The Schwan Food Company, is seeking talent to join our Finance department.  If you are a project based professional with capital projects, product costing and strong analytical skills in a food/retail manufacturing environment with an interest in working for a privately held, innovative and growing frozen food company, take a look at career opportunities at Schwan’s.
Responsibilities:
  • Reports, analyzes forecasts and interprets financial operating data.
  • This may include profit/loss analysis, cost analysis, market niche, reporting, regional performance assessments, customer proposals, rate of return, depreciation and any other ad-hoc analysis of interest to management
  • Participates in the preparation and compilation of the annual financial plan which may include functional area specific modeling, time-series analysis, and graphic presentation of both operating and financial data
  • Prepares complex financial analysis reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines Interprets and applies policies and procedures to new situations
  • Advises on and recommends to management desirable operational adjustments and interprets budget to actual variance
  • May perform ROI analysis investments
  • Develops operating metrics Reviews performance to plan and conduct prior year's variance analysis Reviews business unit financial statements and policies to ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines
  • Assists other Finance and organizational areas with financial matters as required and may serve as a mentor and evaluator of lower level staff
  • Responsible to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company mission values code of ethics policies and other standards of conduct

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred

 

Years of Related Experience: Typically has a minimum of 4 years related experience.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Advanced PC skills including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite; advanced understanding of financial analysis and accounting policies procedures programs and processes; solid communication and interpersonal skills; proficient use of automated general ledger systems and reporting tools (SAP SQL Cognos ReportNet and BEx); advanced skills in the development of financial ratios and comparative analysis; thorough understanding of general accounting principles and accepted standards; CPA or pursuit of CPA preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide assistance with mentoring and/or evaluation of lower level staff.
