Position Summary:
 
Drive HR strategy through the business in partnership with local management. The HR Manager will work closely with local business leaders and the Supply Chain HR Leadership Team to support deployment of a comprehensive HR Strategy and People Plan for the manufacturing facility. A full range of generalist knowledge will be needed to drive successful labor strategy, performance management, compensation planning, and talent development.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Strategic Business Partner - Understand company business and strategy and proactively contribute to business decisions

  • Formulate and execute a people strategy that supports people strategy

  • Lead, manage and shape the culture through Mission, Vision, Values; make culture change a business priority, translating desired culture into specific employee and managerial behaviors

  • Provide disciplined HR leadership by being a solutions oriented business partner

  • Clarify business goals and proactively contribute to business decisions by partnering with line managers on objective setting, performance management and calibration processes, manager/employee relationships, policy conflict resolution, discipline administration

  • Design, develop and use HR systems/technology to create value.

  • Provide systems and processes to serve employee needs and comply with legal requirements

  • Foster innovative, adaptable environment where changes are capable; build trust and capability through coordinated change management practices

  • Champion compensation programs to include local incentive plan design, annual merit increases and severance administration  

  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations, regulatory standards, and labor and employee relations practices, including EEOC, Global Business Practices, lawsuits and arbitrations Support optimization of organizational tools and processes through collection and maintenance of data related to workforce planning, organizational structure, job design, reporting relationships, and other essential analytics

  • Support the professional development of direct reports through development planning and regular feedback Lead, champion and drive change management processes through effective planning and communication of a clear, articulate strategy

  • Lead Talent Review Process (TRP) to drive succession planning within the respective business unit

  • Foster trust and commitment-based work environment where people are fully engaged Act as a committed, trusted, respected advocate for all employees in this non-union environment 


  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university required. Masters degree in HR preferred.  PHR or SPHR certification a plus

  • Must have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of human resources and employment practices (selection, interviewing, job evaluations, contract administration, etc.)

  • Minimum 5 years direct HR experience required, including a minimum of 2 years in an HR Manager role.

  • Experience in human resources function in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.

  • Continuous Improvement/LEAN oriented mindset

  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle information in a confidential manner.
