Job Description
| Our client is an internationally well known multi-billion dollar producer of food, pharma, and nutritional ingredients. We are looking to hire a candidate currently living and working in the western United States with current or prior experience selling “value-added” FOOD ingredients to companies that manufacturer baked goods such as bread, tortillas, rolls, cookies, crackers, etc. Home office based (Southern CA or Arizona locations preferred). This position is an integral part of the company and plays a critical role in sales, marketing, sales budgeting, risk management, efficiency measures, and customer satisfaction. Requires executive to work effectively across the organization and relies on his/her experience and judgment to plan and accomplish mutually agreed upon company goals. |
Qualifications/Responsibilities/Duties:
- Must have 3+ years of food ingredient sales experience to manufacturers of baked goods. Must have current contacts in both Purchasing and R&D at companies like Sara Lee/Bimbo, Lovin’ Oven, Bloomfield Bakeries, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Chemistry, food science, microbiology, or other natural science desired
- Prefer candidates who already live in Southern CA or Arizona
- Manage a portfolio of customers and products. Visit customers often enough to develop close working relationships. Seek ways to increase growth above normal organic growth. Territory includes the entire West Coast plus Mexico.
- Candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English are desired
- Prepare annual forecast for portfolio of products and other forecasts as needed
- Pursue efficiencies within department, especially when it comes to sharing of information
- Work closely with CSR’s to ensure smooth transactions and customer satisfaction
- Identify development projects from idea to development phase, and eventual commercialization
- Must be able and willing to travel extensively by car or plane to visit with customers. Travel estimated to be 50-70%.
- Must have a valid drivers license
