POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing the activities of the maintenance department to keep building and equipment in proper state of repair. This is done in order to reduce mechanical downtime and keep product flow and production lines running at maximum. Responsible for the development and implementation of maintenance systems associated with High Performing Manufacturing Organizations (Preventative/ Predictive Maintenance, TPM, etc.).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. 25% Responsible for the management of maintenance systems associated with high performing manufacturing
organizations (Root Cause Analysis, Reliability-Centered Maintenance, TPM, etc.). These systems will provide
maximum plant capacity, while minimizing cost. Assures proper scheduling of work to maximize amount
completed with minimal plant disruption. The result is reduced unscheduled downtime and lower costs creating
higher plant efficiency.
2. 25% Manage the maintenance staff through delegation, policy and procedure administration, assignment of work
responsibilities, planning, organizing, directing and follow-up of the work assignment. Promote plant safety
performance through administration, enforcement of company and plant policy/procedure and training
consistent with the objectives and in compliance with Federal and State agencies.
3. 20% Accountable for providing short and medium term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams
having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc. Ensure the smooth daily
operation of the plant with minimal repetitive issues.
4. 20% Assist the Plant Engineer in developing and managing an effective Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
program using SAP PM module. Extract and analyze program data to ensure a constant state of continuous
improvement
5. 5% Maintains compliance with Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the
maintenance function (supplier performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.).
6. 5% Takes ownership for their own personal growth and professional development by soliciting feedback, getting
involved in departmental/plant initiatives and projects, and developing a career plan.
SCOPE OF JOB:
Supervises 4-7 Maintenance Supervisors
Manages <80 hourly skilled crafts persons
Interfaces with department customers in Safety, Food Safety, Production, and Quality.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
!Responsible for the daily direction, coordination and evaluation of the maintenance department at the plant.
!Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
!Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees under the direction of the Human Resources
Department and the Plant Engineer; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

!Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or Business from a 4 year university and 8 plus years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
!Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
!Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats. Represents the department, plant and company in a continuously professional manner.
!High level of organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning skills.
!Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of and the Internet. Well versed in the use of SAP PM module.
!Strong interpersonal, technical required, presentation skills preferred.
!Possess advanced technical skills in the mechanical / electrical fields (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical
engineering, etc.) and is able to lead resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing environment.
!Thorough knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive
maintenance, TPM, etc.
