Two Reliability positions will be based at the Keokuk, IA corn-wet milling facility and the other Reliability position will transfer after min 6-months training/trial period to the Specialty Manufacturing facility north of Chicago, IL; require interaction with both Salaried and Union workforce.
Description: The Reliability Engineer Associate Project Coordinator will act as the technical resource for all matters of equipment reliability, providing a high level of technical expertise to assist with troubleshooting and problem solving activities. This position focuses on enhancing equipment reliability through analysis versus first response, day-to-day troubleshooting of failed equipment. Incumbents must demonstrate strong technical knowledge, strong interpersonal and communication skills and excellent external and internal functional/cross-functional communications skills to be considered for this position. Reporting to the Maintenance Group Manager.
The Reliability Engineer Associate Project Coordinator will be required to complete a comprehensive maintenance reliability training program. Travel will be required as classes will not be hosted onsite.
Main Responsibilities
- Determine equipment reliability analysis priorities based on established plans and objectives.
- Develop and recommend equipment asset plans using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Risk Based Inspections (RBI) and other reliability techniques.
- Execute reliability studies on existing equipment and recommend needed improvements to management in the areas of equipment philosophies and best practices for asset productivity.
- Apply engineering theory, practices, and principles to conduct physical failure analysis, determine root cause of equipment failures and execute equipment performance evaluations.
- Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and MTBF data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain lowest life cycle cost on different classes of equipment.
- Analyze all process equipment (including mechanical, electrical and instrument/control) to determine how process variation and equipment operation can impact equipment reliability and recommend improvements based on findings.
- Continually promote consistency by standardizing procedures/equipment/operations within area of responsibility.
- Participate as a member of mechanical turn-around/shutdown teams providing input into needed equipment inspection and repair procedures.
- Support capital projects by participating in setting equipment "fitness for use" criteria and specifications to optimize equipment/system reliability and life cycle cost. Also provide technical support for QA/QC, installation, and startup of all new critical equipment.
- Work closely with the maintenance management team in a partnership to achieve reliability excellence. Our desire is to become a world class maintenance organization.
Qualifications

- BS degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical or Chemical) or equivalent experience;
- Prefer Certified Reliability Engineer: CRE / CRP / CMRP
- Prior maintenance reliability experience in a process oriented industrial setting (wet milling/pulp/chemical/etc)
- 3-5 years maintenance reliability experience
- 3-5 years industrial plant experience
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT); (infra-red, vibration analysis, ultrasonic, magnetic-particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic, remote visual inspection (RVI), eddy-current testing, low coherence interferometry, and/or ex-ray)
- Demonstrates high level of technical skill
- Demonstrates ability to execute reliability improvement projects, with project development experience preferred
- Demonstrates knowledge of root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and reliability centered maintenance (RCM) methodology
- Demonstrates knowledge of predictive & preventive reliability technologies
- Demonstrates use of critical reasoning skills as they apply to problem solving and decision-making.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and/or prior experience (preferred) working with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Prior experience with SAP preferred
- Demonstrates understanding of reliability centered techniques
