Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Sanitation
• Proactively manage all aspects of the Sanitation Department to:
1. Achieve high compliance scores on the daily Pre-Operative Sanitation Inspections.
2. Ensure proper use and amounts of sanitation chemicals.
3. Continuously train personnel in the proper use of chemicals.
4. Maintain inventory accuracy of all chemicals needed.
5. Avoid misuse of sanitation equipment to reduce cost.
6. Analyze sanitation trends and develop corrective actions when problems are noted.
7. Maintain facility in excellent sanitary conditions at all times in accordance with KPSC, USFDA, USDC and customer requirements.
B. Safety
1. Provide instruction for hourly personnel in the safety and security aspects of their positions.
2. Minimize the OSHA recordable accidents, lost-time, and avoidable injuries.
3. Emphasize the importance of the safety gear for their protection. Monitor compliance with PPE requirements.
4. Oversee sanitation operations to ensure that equipment is operated in a safe manner. To provide a safe working environment for the sanitation personnel.
5. Instruct all employees to follow all safety procedures including Lock-Out Tag-Out, Confined Space and Respirator policies.
C. Pest Control
1. Review the Pest Control Operator (PCO) log book to ensure proper documentation.
2. Ensure corrective action is taken for all of the PCO findings.
3. Report any pest activity to PCO.
4. Ensure all pesticides used by the PCO comply with the food processing plant standards.
5. Maintain all files and documentation pertinent to pest control chemicals and usage in compliance with KPSC, USFDA, and customer requirements.
6. Regularly audit PCO processes and procedures to insure compliance appropriate standards.
D. Personnel
1. Train personnel to assemble and disassemble production equipment.
2. Enforce company policies such as Attendance, Dress Code, GMP’s, etc.
3. Review and approve timesheets for hourly personnel on a daily basis.
4. Promote a sense of Teamwork among the Sanitation Department through motivation and training.
5. Conduct monthly meetings to discuss safety and other department issues and develop corrective action plans.
6. Provide company information such as training or employee activities.
Qualifications
• Minimum of an Associates Degree from an accredited college or university is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Personal Computer Skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.
• Knowledge in the management of Pest Control and Pest Elimination.
• Good verbal and written communications skills.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Good People Management and Interaction skills.
