PACKAGING SUPERVISOR
Main responsibility is to supervise the day to day activities of the packaging/ production department and personnel to meet established processing and quality controlled standards by performing the following:
- Attend production Meetings
- Understand and apply production schedule for all production lines
- Distribute job assignments to each machine operator
- Organize and assign work to packers and stackers and any other production personnel
- Ensure that all scheduled production is completed with complete stocking of all raw materials and packaging materials before the line is set up.
- Coordinate product start ups from labor, equipment/tooling required, and necessary materials.
- Communicate inventory discrepancies to scheduling personnel or Packaging Manager.
- Ensure rework is opened and added to the run, or organized in the rework area.
- Ensure the production floor is organized and clean at all times.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure production is fulfilling quality and production standards.
- Verify production paperwork is completed correctly
- Make sure all production personnel follow SOP’s and GMP’s at all times.
- Make recommendations for line efficiency and productivity improvements
- Ensure safety procedures / policies are followed.
- Assist with company wide inventory and customer audits.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree and at least five years of related work experience, preferably in the food industry with at least two to three years of supervisory experience. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)a plus. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to implement change, foster teamwork, and inspire and motivate. Local candidates only. No relocation provided.
