Posting Job Description Performs a variety of chemical and physical analyses on products, raw materials, in-process materials per MillerCoors quality system requirements. Interprets, evaluates, and reports the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision. Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process control, and conducts certification and training of employee's based on test methods and procedures. Applies method, instrument and data systems expertise to resolve problems. Links analytical results with a basic understanding of brewing and packaging. Performs high level instrumental analyses such as HPLC, GC, AA. Collaborates with the operational quality specialists in each process area by:
Supporting adherence to quality system standards and requirements
Partnering to enable and drive continuous/focused improvement to reduce variability in each process area
Interpreting, analyzing, validating and reporting quality data clearly and consistently
Monitoring, validating and improving process measurement equipment, systems and reporting.
Responsible for adhering to all rules, regulations, policies, programs and related MillerCoors Quality Management System including SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure safety and quality of MillerCoors products.
Performs, interprets and evaluates chemical and physical analysis:
Provides timely, highly accurate and precise chemical analysis on raw materials, in process and package.
Performs analysis ranging from basic wet chemistry to advanced testing using HPLC, GC, ESR etc.
Participates in proficiency testing to ensure accuracy and precision of techniques, methodology or equipment.
Performs basic microbiological analyses.
Maintains, calibrates and repairs laboratory equipment:
Monitors, calibrates and maintains laboratory instruments.
Performs troubleshooting of instruments and methods.
Performs basic repairs of equipment.
Develops, trends and summarizes analytical information:
Develops, improves and implements quality data collection, analysis and reporting processes to provide the best information to the decision-making time and location in the process.
Utilizes statistical analysis tools (SPC, control charts) for summarizing and reporting data and trends, and monitoring laboratory equipment.
Facilitates quality improvement and problem solving:
Facilitates and participates on problem solving and quality improvement teams.
Participates as a subject matter expert to support problem solving and quality improvement initiatives.
Influences and educates teams in continuous and focused improvement:
Educates, trains and influences teams, leaders and support groups to achieve continuous and focused improvement to reducing process variation and controlling processes to specification targets.
Participates in WCM “Best Practice” concepts (Five S, VPM, Teamwork, Autonomous Maintenance, and Asset Management within the quality labs and production.
Supports team performance:

Preferred Qualifications Education level and/or experience
BS or BA in a science related field of study or 5 years of laboratory/brewing experience. ( Degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cereal Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Agronomy, Chemical Engineering preferred)
Entry level to two (2) years experience in quality related processes
Skills and/or knowledge
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of chemistry.
Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrument maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting
Knowledge of basic statistical methods and computer skills
Familiarity and basic understanding of the brewing process a plus
Familiarity with quality systems a plus
Other requirements
Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
Strong organizational, time management and planning skills
Experience with problem solving techniques
Ability and willingness to work a rotating shift operation, weekends and holidays as necessary to support production requirements
Familiarity with concept of continuous improvement
