Processing Supervisor
Chief Objective of Job:
To oversee mix-related activities and functions for all shifts, either personally or through supervision of others
Work Tasks And Duties
• Abide by all plant Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) policies and actively participate in safety activities
• Consistently demonstrate safe work behaviors and actively support company safety goals
• Support all TPM initiatives and actively participate in all TPM processes and activities
• Routinely communicate with employees to ensure compliance with established safety, quality and productivity policies and procedures
• Work to achieve “Zero” accidents by taking a leadership role in safety
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of mix department on a daily basis
• Ensure activities are coordinated with support departments by communicating relevant information to appropriate parties
• Ensure all mix is made to meet production schedules
• Ensure operation of equipment is meeting regulatory requirements
• Manage the ordering of all ingredients to ensure finished quantities meet schedule
• Manage ingredient inventory
• Supervise the manufacture of quality products to meet product specifications in accordance to GMP, SPC and manufacturing specifications
• Investigate and identify root causes of accidents, quality holds, material waste or environmental non-compliance utilizing the TPM RCA process in order to prevent recurrence of similar incidents
• Identify and resolve problems, issues or information gaps affecting production
• Supervise hourly employees to ensure compliance with company policy and work rules, GMPs and safety requirements
• Evaluate employee performance and conduct performance reviews
• Counsel and discipline employees as necessary
• Ensure all machinery is working properly and all safety devices are implemented
• Maintain written/computerized records and other forms of information
• Lead team meetings and conduct safety training
• Assist with emergency response activities
• Perform other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications (Entry-level)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; Solid sanitation knowledge sufficient to identify and assign skills/tasks required to perform a timely and sanitary cleaning and startup of system; Basic knowledge of ice cream composition to include sweeteners, emulsifiers, stabilizers, dairy ingredients and how their properties affect freezing points; Knowledge of HTST system and regulatory requirements associated with the system.
Basic project management skills sufficient to work cross-functionally with other departments and sites to adhere to time lines; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Self motivated team player with the ability to motivate others and a positive “can-do” attitude; Computer proficiency, esp. Excel, Word, Window NT.

C. Level and type of experience:
1 – 3 years’ supervisory experience
1 – 3 years’ experience in an industrial setting preferred
Thermal processing and or heat treatment experience preferred.
