Job Description
Tetra Pak Dairy & Beverage Systems AB develop and manufacture processing solutions for liquid foods for customers within the dairy, beverage and prepared food industry all over the world. Centers of Excellence are located in Sweden, USA, China, India, Denmark and Singapore.
 
Tetra Pak Processing Systems Americas Inc located in the suburbs of Indianapolis, Indiana (USA) and will in January, 2012 relocate to Winsted, Minnesota (USA), designs and manufactures processing solutions primarily for North-, South and Central Americas including the Caribbean.
 
Overview of the Position:
Tetra Pak Processing Systems America (TPPSA) is looking for a Mechanical Engineer. In this position you will get the opportunity to design process modules and lines in all food categories to fulfil customer orders. In the role as Mechanical Engineer you will have the possibility to follow the process from order intake to the delivering of the finished product. At TPPSA we work with process solutions that are unique to every customer and product. Therefore you will get variation as well as challenges in your daily work. With a suitable candidate, we see this position to be able to grow as an OFCE Process Engineer. We are open minded, self motivated, flexible and stretching in competitive situations.
 
The Mechanical Engineer will:
  • Be responsible for the mechanical design in customer orders throughout the whole order process.
  • Make 3D models in Mechanical Desktop. In the future we will use Inventor.
  • Extract 2D drawings that will be used during manufacturing.
  • Extract coordinates for automatic pipe bending machines.
  • Extract pipes and fitting lists that will be used as a BOM for purchasing and manufacturing.
  • Assist the assemblers in the workshop if any questions arise.
  • Communicate with Mechanical Design Owners in Sweden (find information about the latest changes, quick estimate of a layout suggestion for Sales Support, provide feedback to Sweden regarding any suggestions for improvement).
  • Work with component supplier in development projects.
 
 

 

Qualifications

Language and Education:
  • The candidate must be fluent in English.
  • design experience with Autodesk required (Mechanical Desktop a plus)
  • A two year degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred

Professional Skills and Experience:

  • 5-10 years of working experience.
  • Proficient using MS Office software.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Service-minded.
  • You like to work both independently as well as with others.
  • Must be able to multitask even in stressful situations.
  • Hygienic design, good GMP, PMO.
Location and Travel:
  • This position will be based in Winsted, Minnesota.
  • Willing to travel to Sweden for training and work exchange, 15 days a year.
