Quality Assurance Manager
The Mennel Milling Company headquartered in Fostoria, OH is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager for its Fostoria, Ohio flour mill. The position has responsibility for the development, implementation, and administration of effective quality assurance strategies, programs and procedures at the Fostoria mill in order to achieve the highest quality standard expected by the Company and its customers. This position will also support the Bucyrus mill’s quality assurance and serve as the primary liaison for the customers pertaining to flour quality. The QA Manager will lead a staff of 10 technicians performing chemical, rheological, microbiological, milling and baking evaluation of wheat grains and flour products.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in a food/beverage or consumer goods manufacturing environment is required. Experience in Quality Assurance is preferred.
· B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline is required; post-graduate degrees are preferred.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in cereal chemistry, analytical chemistry, food science, and statistics or statistical process control (SPC)
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and SPC software.
· Must have strong leadership and supervision skills.
· Must have excellent technical writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
· Must have solid communication skills and be able to interact and productively communicate with all levels of the organization.
· Must be a self-starter and maintain high level of self-motivation.
