Job Description

 


Key confectionary operations position that is responsible for meeting the plant’s budgetary, quality, inventory control, productivity, efficiency and safety objectives while maintaining and promoting an environment of continuous improvement and positive employee relations at all levels of the organization. This position ensures operations are conducted within guidelines established by Good Manufacturing Practices, producing products which meet or exceed customer and company quality expectations in a safe environment and that costs, efficiencies and volume targets are maintained at or better than budgeted or standards levels.

· Manages plant operations to produce products that meet quality, cost, volume and service criteria and objectives.
· Key leader of the plant’s continuous improvement process.
· Determines resources, skills and structure in respective areas of responsibility to achieve business objectives.
· Encourages and ensures career development and succession planning discussions for plant operations.
· Establishes clear goals and accountability to direct reports and provides performance feedback on a regular basis.
· Mentors and develops direct reports in current position for future career growth.
· Develops plant operating budgets and oversees capital management for the facility.
· Responsible for ensuring positive employee relations in the facility.
· Defines and directs compliance with corporate, division and local plant's policies and procedures. Contributes to the development of company-wide strategic plans.
· Leads plant work environment to achieve maximum productivity. Ensures that departmental plans are effective and implemented. In addition, promotes and encourages the use of KPI’s and goals to ensure that goals and outcomes have appropriate visibility.
· Maintain good team relationships between/with all division departments to achieve business goals.

 

Job Qualifications

 

· BS/BA degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
· Minimum 10 years experience holding progressively responsible positions in a food processing operation.
· Successful track record with continuous improvement and process improvement
· Experience with managing a mid to large scale manufacturing operation to include engineering and maintenance, warehousing and shipping, safety, quality and production operations.
· Management experience in both union and nonunion environments preferred.
· Excellent communications, presentation, interpersonal, project management and leadership skills required.
· Proven track record of developing and leading effective teams.
