Job Description
The primary role of the fleet mechanic is to repair and maintain diesel and gasoline industrial trucks. This person will also use hand tools and have knowledge of electrical systems, power transmissions, brake and other automotive systems. This position requires you to have your own tools. This position also requires a number of physical movements, including lifting, pinching, bending, reach, climbing and manipulating and handling objects.
** Working Schedule - 40 hr - Five 8 hour days. Working on Weekends may be required. **
PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles
- Fill out all necessary documents
- Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary
- Maintain and repair fleet equipment
- May travel to other Hostess facilities to perform duties

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Documentation of a high school diploma or completed GED
- 21 years of age
- Valid Class A CDL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical or Vocational education in areas of diesel mechanics and truck maintenance preferred
- Ability to drive standard/manual transmission
- Experience working in a motor transportation shop is a strong plus
- Safety training
- Prior experience using hand tools, pressure washers, electric/gas welder, drill press, hydraulic press, forklift and shop tools related to automotive work
