Job Description

QC Manager 

The Quality Manager is responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements. This person will perform technical duties which require familiarity with overseeing strict adherence to QC Standards, SOP's, GMP's, Food Safety, Allergen Program, Pest Control Program, the HACCP Plan and SQF third party audits. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures for company's manufacturing facility, including GMP's, SSOP's, Allergen’s, Pest Control and HACCP
  • Collect, analyze, and file daily HACCP reports
  • Develop programs for raw material inspections and finished good inspections 
  • Manage/Coordinate annual 3rd party SQF 2000 level 3 audits 
  • Ensure compliance to state, federal, and local regulations
    Run all facets of quality control department 
  • Manage all quality activities as it relates to sourcing, receiving, storage and manufacturing 
  • Maintain log of incoming materials, WIP, and finished products with regard to lot coding and traceability 
  • Manage all vendor letters of guarantee, certificates of analysis
  • Create reports detailing quality issues and establish methodology for improving and tracking performance 
  • Manage and perform microbiological testing practices and coordinate communication with testing laboratory 
  • Develop product labels including nutritionals and ingredient statements. Ensure compliance with regulations.


Position Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related science field. 
  • Must have at least 2 years of QA Management experience (Internships qualify) 
  • The ideal candidate must be HACCP certified knowledge of SQF quality systems.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a team leader with proven supervisory and computer skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidates must be well organized and comfortable working independently
  • Strong technical knowledge of food safety is preferred 

Compensation: $75-80k
