Qualifications:
* BS Food Science, Biology, Chemistry
* 3-5 years relevant experience in the food industry
* Able to travel for extended periods of time
* Able to perform as a leader
* Able to work in a factory environment dealing with equipment and raw materials
* Can conduct plant tests and product / production commissioning
* Perform some physical labor as necessary
Duties:
* Conduct research projects leading to the development of new products or product modifications
* Conduct experiments, record experimental data, and communicate results to the Projects Manager by product exams and lab reports
* Achieve desired research results within the product image and time guidelines
* Travel to various company installations or suppliers
* Efficiently and scientifically conduct research projects
* Work with other technologist, lab groups and personnel at other company facilities
* Prepare and conduct special cutting of samples of products for comparison to competitors and collect product data
* Daily contact with other groups within the laboratory
* Exhibit technical competence in the planning and completion of assigned projects leading to the development and implementation into production of new or revised products
* Train plant production personnel
