Job Description

Daymon is currently searching for candidates for an Analyst position that will exclusively support a key strategic Supplier.  This position will work closely with the Daymon Director of Beverages and the Supplier to elevate consumer, category and retailer knowledge to drive Supplier’s share and sales.   This role will be on the Global Analytics and Insights Network (GAIN) team, and therefore will have full access to all training and resources offered by the GAIN team.  Position to be located within the Stamford, CT offices of Daymon Worldwide.  

Responsibilities

  • Support Supplier initiatives by providing category analysis and advanced consumer insights using a range of syndicated and non-syndicated data resources.  Work closely with Daymon Business Development, GAIN, and Supplier Sales and Marketing staff.
  • Be a recognized business expert in syndicated data resources, including Nielsen Nitro, Homescan, Spectra, MRI, Euromonitor, Planet Retail, Netbase and Mintel GNPD.
  • Access relevant information, interprets results, provide actionable insights and draw conclusions to support the business case for each project.
  • Interact with Daymon retailer onsite teams to customize insights where appropriate

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in analytics, category management, planning and consultation – ideally candidates will  be sourced from a top tier consumer packaged goods company, management consultant, syndicated data company or retailer
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field preferred
  • Experience working hands-on with a wide range of syndicated data resources, e.g. IRI, Nielsen scanner and consumer panel data, Spectra, MRI, Simmons
  • Strong computer software skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • A proven, in-depth understanding of category management methods and analytics, fact-based selling, marketing analysis and sales/strategic planning
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic insights from data sources.  Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to present results and solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written including presentation skills
  • Capable of building strategic relationships across departments and among varying personalities
  • Proven success in working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong abilities to independently set priorities, multitask, self-manage, and deliver high quality work in abbreviated timing
  • Works best in a team oriented culture where a positive attitude, professional communication skills and recognition of others are essential
  • Seeks continuous improvement, both in self and in the work processes
  • Potential for travel to Supplier or customer presentations, or other occasions where data expertise is required
