Job Description
This position will work closely with Daymon’s business managers, marketing managers and product development managers to provide category management support and high-level analytical support to Meijer and to our supplier partners.
Specific Responsibilities:

Using a combination of internal and syndicated data, analyze Own Brand opportunity gaps across categories and aid in prioritizing these opportunities for both Daymon and Meijer leadership

Report on Own Brand sales and share performance to leadership

Track price gaps on key Own Brand items relative to their National Brand targets

Track whether Own Brand is getting its fair share of ads & price promotions

Work closely with Daymon Business Managers to support Meijer buying teams in bottom-up financial planning by category before each new fiscal year

Manage Daymon’s contributions to the customer’s category review process by assisting in high priority category reviews, providing insights into category dynamics, pricing, promotion and shopper behavior

Co-lead our initiatives on brand and SKU rationalization

Build relationships with key customer contacts, in particular the Directors and Vice President of Grocery

Coordinate w/ the Daymon Shopper Insights Manager on projects requiring customer shopper data

Execute special projects as assigned by supervisor or Meijer leadership

As needed, develop new models for financial analysis and category management

This position will be responsible for managing up to 4 direct reports
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree or higher
-
5+ years in category management, preferably in the supermarket industry
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Powerpoint
-
Strong analytical skills: Ability to gather, manipulate, interpret large amounts of data and present insights to various audiences, as appropriate

Proven track record of developing new methods for analyzing data
-
Experience managing people
-
Strong interpersonal savvy and penchant for developing solid relationships with Director/VP-level leaders

Results focused

Working knowledge of Nielsen and/or IRI data & applications
-
Knowledge of Spectra, MRI, ECRM Marketgate a plus

Eligible to work in US

Strong interest in relocation for career advancement after 2-3 years
