Job Description

 

Job Summary

Change agent and champion of HR initiatives.  Business partner that is engaged and provides coaching and counseling to ensure associates are in compliance with the company’s policies, procedures, state, and federal laws so the workplace remains harmonious, safe, and productive.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Log, investigate complaints/concerns and allegations of company policy violations and document.
  • Monitor compliance with policy and law and take appropriate action.
  • Process termination paperwork
  • Monitor attendance and turnover taking action to ensure company objectives are met.
  • Participate with various committees and meetings; including conducting round table meetings with significant floor presence to ensure HR is viewed as a trustworthy and valued added function.
  • Engaged is safety program and is an active member of accident investigative team. 
  • Facilitate Monthly Safety Meeting in conjunction with Live Operations Safety Representative
  • Assist Safety Representative as needed in Workers Compensation Cases
  • Weekly update meeting with Facility Manager.
  • Weekly update meeting with Live Operations HR Manager
  • Participate in supervisor monthly meetings.
  • Provides refresher training to salaried and hourly associates.
  • Actively involved in supervisor apprentice and intern program.
  • Actively involved and contributor to HR goals.
  • Involved in company events e.g. turkey give away, family day.
  • Participate and conduct employee terminations.
  • Interview candidates for designated departments.
  • Conduct new hire orientation
  • Process new hire paperwork in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Participate in Unemployment Hearings and process paper work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Employee relations background; Employment Law knowledge
  • Computer Skills ( Microsoft, SAP, AS400)
  • Problem solving skills as well as conflict resolution.
  • Critical thinking

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field or a minimum of 4 years of  experience.

Physical Demands

Ability to conduct computer functions.

Ability to use general office equipment.

Work Environment

This position works both in an office environment and outside on the farms. The outdoor environment can be hot or cold, dry or wet, and may be unclean.
