Job Description

SUMMARY

The EH & S Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining records and documentation of training for the Environmental Health and Safety Programs. This specialist is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating safety training sessions. EH & S Specialists lead and direct safety audits, plant inspections, environmental reviews, incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • 2-4 year degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of environmental, safety, and/or health experience.
  • Presentation/facilitation experience and skills required.
  • Workers’ Compensation administration beneficial.
  • Completed the following courses/programs: OSHA General Industry 30-Hour, 501 or 511 course; National Safety Council Advanced Safety Certificate or equivalent certificate program; DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation training; First Aid/CPR; Smoke School; OSHA Hazwoper training.
  • Experience managing programs for OSHA process safety management, lockout/tagout and confined space entry.
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.
