Job Description
Job Summary:
Develop, direct and maintain effective QA functions to provide product that meets stated requirements and ensure all products are safe and wholesome.
Essential Functions:
- Assure product quality at targeted levels
- Assure Food Safety processes are followed and all legal requirements are met
- Assure Regulatory Compliance is met
- Assure Company Policies & Procedure are met
- Liason with USDA and FDA
- Liason with Sales, R&D, and Product Development
- Assure HACCP Plans are effective, reviewed and validated
- Maintain and update all procedures and product specifications
- Monitor Sanitation and Pest Control
- Respond to Customer Complaints with Corrective Actions
- HACCP Specialist
- Manage the ISO System
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage the Quality Department consisting of QA techs and QA Clerk
- Provide training for team members in Critical Control Points, Food Safety, SSOPS and GMP.
- Perform Food Safety and GMP Audits
- Maintain and respond to NR’s
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
This position requires someone with extensive Quality Assurance experience. This person should have experience working in a further processing facility and/or a food manufacturing facility. Experience with USDA, FDA, SPC, HACCP, and GMP’s are essential for this position.
Education and Experience
A degree in Food Science is preferred. 5 or more years in a Quality Supervisor or Manager role is preferred.
