Eastern is the world's largest harvester, processor and marketer of scallops. There's a reason Eastern Fisheries is known as "The Scallop Company." Since our founding in 1978, scallops have been the sole focus of our business. While others in the seafood industry diversify their product lines, in an attempt to increase sales, we have chosen to be the best at the species we know better than anyone else: scallops.
The results speak for themselves. Eastern is the premier supplier of scallops in the world today. In 2003, we harvested or purchased 15 million pounds of scallops, accounting for 20% of the entire U.S. harvest.
