Company Information:
Since 1985 French Meadow Bakery has produced the most pure, organic and artfully crafted yeast free breads that cater to our customers’ special dietary needs, allergies and concerns for the healthiest foods for their bodies.

Lynn Gordon, the founder of French Meadow, is a certified macrobiotic teacher, and for many years prior to her baking bread, taught cooking and lifestyle classes at the Traditional Center for Macrobiotics in St. Paul. Lynn consulted with individuals with cancer and severe illnesses, with a teaching emphasis on healing with whole foods. French Meadow was a natural evolution, and needed bread in the marketplace because of Lynn’s concern with healthy lifestyle, nutrition, and environmental issues. There were many healthy all sprouted, yeasty, and sweetened breads available…..but only two small bakeries in the entire country were baking the coveted yeast free, hence, phytic acid free, naturally leavened breads. These breads are even tolerated by those with wheat sensitivities, due to the increased absorption and digestion of nutrients and lack of phytic & trypsin inhibitors…the bread acts similarly to an acidophilus culture, increasing the health of the flora in the intestines.

Composed simply of organic stoneground grains, sprouted grains, unrefined sea salt, and purified water, our goal is to bake the most natural and exceptionally nutritious breads available anywhere. French Meadow is the longest continuously certified organic bakery
