In the early 1900's, a few Michigan farmers and their families began raising turkeys. They found that the temperate climate and rich land of Allegan, Ottawa, Kent and Barry counties produced a bigger and healthier bird.
As word of these great turkeys spread, more families started raising turkeys on their Michigan Farms.
Today, these family farms are still in operation. They have been handed down from generation to generation. And they are continuing to produce better turkeys.
Now, 15 of those farmers have joined together to form Michigan Turkey Producers. We are committed to quality and safety from our farms to your table. Se we have set up a new processing plant of our own to prepare the birds for market. This state-of-the-art facility is the most modern turkey processing plant in the nation.
We have selected a name to represent of brand of turkeys. A name that salutes the values and spirit of our farms, our families and the quality of our turkeys. We're proud to pass our pride on to you.
Michigan Turkey Producers are proud to produce Golden Legacy in partnership with the Walcott, Bussis , Sietsema, DeWitt, Wieland, Dykstra, Veltema, Snider, Pyle, Duflo, Hannenburg, Overweg, Otto, Punter and Smith family farms.
