At Surlean we believe in total food solutions for our customers.
Surlean Foods was started in 1979 as the brainchild of Ken Leonard. Ken and his father Al had started L&H Packing back in 1963 specializing in the slaughter and boning of cattle and hogs. L&H very successfully sold this protein to a large number of restaurants and grocery stores throughout Texas and the Southern USA.
Surlean Foods was conceived as a total foods solution supplier to the food service industry, going far beyond just boned protein products. Surlean was created to help the food service operators of the USA keep up with the ever-changing demands of the burgeoning American population. Back then we did this by working with our customers to swiftly create the top quality protein products they needed in the forms that worked best in the kitchens. We were pretty successful at this as we were forced to significantly expand our plant capacity four different times!
Today, we provide this very same level of successful custom design with beef, pork and chicken, prepared in many new and different ways that we didn’t have back in 1979. And we augment these new products with what we think is the very best quality processes and customer service in the business. 24 X 7 is simply the starting point for us.
