1969 - After a successful career with Anheuser-Busch, Inc., Brookes Burkhardt, Sr., along with his wife, Marian Burkhardt, and father-in-law, Paul Cook, purchases the assets of Cowan Distributing Company in St. Augustine. The warehouse and office is located on Rodrigues Street in West St. Augustine. Jerry Vaughn, who would serve over 35 years with the company, is there from the beginning. Only three AB brands - Budweiser, Busch and Michelob - are available. 1973 - Marian Burkhardt takes over as Chairman and President after sudden passing of her husband, Brookes, Sr. Company completes building new office and warehouse on US 1 South in St. Augustine. Only a few businesses were located “south of town” at that time. 1989 - Company builds a new 35,000 square foot office/warehouse on Inman Road. 1990
