CBCo. was founded by Mike "Smitty" Smith and John Stritch in November of 1997. Smitty is a UNCC graduate that founded a successful construction wholesale business, and sold to the other partners in early 1997. He also had family ties to the state's largest ice cream/milk dairy that gave him insight into the beverage industry.
CBCo's goal is to establish itself and its brands as THE PREMIERE REGIONAL BREWERY OF THE SOUTHEAST. The goal is to challenge the big three breweries for a small market niche just above their "above premium" brands but more affordable than most national craft beer brands. The company features our 100% NATURAL PRODUCTS, SUPERIOR QUALITY, & BEERS WITH DRINKABILITY.
We are located in Mooresville, NC. (20 miles North of Charlotte). The plant is 30,000-sq. ft., with an additional 14,000-sq. ft. of warehouse space built on 8 acres in a new business park developed by Smitty, called Barley Park. The heart of the brewery is our 50-barrel Brewhouse. We utilize ten 100-barrel fermenters. Our package line is capable of doing 5,000 cases per shift, and our kegger can clean and fill kegs at a rate of 1 keg per minute! A Flash Pasteurizer has been installed that extends our bottled beer shelf life, and eliminates the need for keg refrigeration. We have built for the future and we are excited because we believe that quality beer sells!
