Salvador J. Bertucci, operating out of Gulfport as S.J. BERTUCCI COMPANY, founded what is now known as F.E.B. DISTRUBUTING COMPANY, INC. in February 1934. The brands distributed at that time originated from the New Orleans area where approximately 10 brewers were in operation. The company was appointed distributor for the Mississippi Gulf Coast for JAX beer in 1934.
In 1946, S.J. Bertucci’s son Frank became associated with the company and the name was changed to F.E.B. Distributing Company. In July of 1954, a warehouse fire burned the company to the ground. A year later in July of 1955 a new warehouse with offices opened for business continuing to offer JAX beer from New Orleans. In the 1960’s, F.E.B. Distributing Company was appointed the exclusive distributor for the Miller Brewing Company and also acquired imported Heineken for the Mississippi Gulf Coast area.
